A Winter Redemption, A Nymph Solstice Romance #5 by Gigi Rivers

A surly, blunt, and grumpy man learns how to redeem himself. A Winter Redemption is part of A Nymph Solstice Romance series by Gigi Rivers.

From the blurb:

An MM fantasy winter holiday novella.

An uptight workaholic from the city. A free-spirited half-nymph who propositions him.

Jarne’s world is upended when he catches his husband cheating. He flees the city and travels to a small mountain village where his brother lives. At an inn, Jarne just wants to be left alone. Then a handsome stranger with a flirty smile propositions him. Surprising himself, Jarne accepts. After all, it’s just one night.

When half-nymph Ketho meets the arrogant workaholic from the city, he thinks he’s never met anyone who needed a tupping more in their life. Ketho is more than happy to offer his services. Because whilst Ketho doesn’t do relationships, he always enjoys a tryst.

They meet up again. And again. Still, it’s only temporary. They have no future. Jarne must return to the city. He and Ketho are total opposites. And Ketho has vowed to never be tied to anyone ever again.

But as feelings flourish and their connection grows, will they continue to deny their feelings for each other and destroy their chance at love?

Each book in the A Nymph Solstice Romance series contains an HEA with no cliffhangers and can be read as a standalone.

SNik's Review:

A Winter Redemption is the fifth in the series (A Nymph Solstice Romance), but can be read as a standalone. Fantasy. Hurt/comfort. Quick read. Dual POV.

Having been cheated on and leaving home to find his estranged brother, Jarne is approached at a mountain inn for a one-night stand, and Jarne decides why not? Half-nymph Ketho approached Jarne, looking to flirt with the serious stranger and realizing the workaholic perfumer may be just the right amount of fun for a casual night of fun. When they meet again, feelings eventually grow, but Ketho has vowed never to love and be tied down, which doesn’t matter because Jarne and Ketho have agreed to end things once the winter solstice passes.

Both Jarne and Ketho must overcome their horrible pasts, and the personal growth they have as they build feelings for each other is heartfelt.

As usual, this series has emotional scenes, honest communication, and two people that have to be willing to lose everything in order to love each other. Another fun addition to the series.

Angel's Review:

Jarne is a workaholic who just found his husband in a precarious position with his company's client. After he breaks things off with his now ex husband, he flees to the mountains in search of his younger brother. He wants to right his wrongs, he just doesn't quite know how.

Ketho is a free spirit, he doesn't want to be tied down or live anyone just for them to use that to manipulate him. Then he meets Jarne, a stick up and prissy man who makes him feel things he doesn't want to feel.

This story was full of steam and redemption. What I enjoyed the most in this story is how Jarne kept trying to improve his behavior and learn from his mistakes. He tried to do better, to be better, which I liked. That's what gave a realistic aspect to this story.

I wasn't a big fan of Jarne's character, I'll be honest. The way he treated his brother was not pleasant, however, he realized his behavior was wrong. And with Ketho's help and guidance, he learned how to be better, to treat those around him with kindness instead of being harsh.

This story itself was well done, a quick wintery romance.
