My Saintly Demon, Possessive Love by R.M. Neill

Another book from the multi-author series, Possessive Love, My Saintly Demon, can be read as a standalone.

From the blurb:

The only thing better than church lady made food is a good joint and a better orgasm.
And when all three are delivered by a sexy priest?
Talk about a holy trifecta.

I know demons are supposed to be terrifying and evil. Some might even say cruel and heartless.
But the thing is, I don't like it.

The constant scowling and the raining of fire on people, it really isn't good for my mental health. Give me fluffy bunnies and a good cuddle after a long day and I'm a happy guy.

The problem is, I am a demon and I'm really freaking bad at it.

When my dad sent me to earth for a week to learn from humans how easy it is to be horrible, it sounded like a crap trip to me.

But I met a man there and he's not just any man. He's a priest, and he's as bad at his job as I am.

We're gonna help each other out. He'll teach me how to be bad and I'll... ah, dammit.

The only thing he's going to teach me is that I can fall in love with a human.

What could be scarier than that?

My Saintly Demon is an MM romance that features a marshmallow demon and a jaded priest who make an unlikely pair in this thought provoking and steamy novella about a demon who just can't be bad and seeks comfort, and a priest who needs balance between his want for the forbidden and a desire to find acceptance for who he really is.

Sheena's Review:

This is part of the multi-author Possessive Love series. This was such a fun, almost role reversal of a book, with a demon who's bad at being bad, and a priest who's bad at being good.

When we meet Charles, he's a lost soul. When he's the one supposed to be saving souls, he's also kind of a lost soul himself. I did love the idea of that kind of role reversal, and I'm all for something a little different. I did feel for Charles, especially as his story unfolded. He never really had a chance, or anything, for himself. I do love that the demon is called Dave. It's so un-demon like but it suits him. There is an instant connection between the two. It's hot right from the start. For the most part, I enjoyed the story and the relationship between Charles and Dave. The sub plot with Dave and his father and finding out what Dave really was, was really good, too.

I just didn't warm to X, and I don't know why. Maybe if we get to know him better, that will come. The nature of these stories in series like these is that they are short and sweet, and this is definitely that with a nice HEA for Dave and Charles.

Molly's Review:

Well, opposites attract in the opposite way of what you would think. When the priest is the wild and dirty one and the demon is the sweet and cuddly one! What a fun read that keeps you enthralled the entire read.

A great add to this combined universe and not what I was expecting from a RM Neill book! Job well done. I hope you try future books with this type of feel in them!
