Kicking it with my Best Friend: Out and Kickin' Book 3 by Riley Long

The Out and Kickin' series is a bunch of sweet, shorter reads that can be read as standalones. Kicking it with my Best Friend was no different.

From the blurb:

A childhood pact changed everything.

I loved my life. Sleeping around. No commitments. But my mother kept prying into my love life,
wanting to see me happily settled down.

The remedy seemed to magically reveal itself when I stumbled onto Travis, my childhood best friend, on a dating app. When we were in elementary school, we promised to marry each other if we were still single at thirty.

Reconnecting, I proposed we give the pact a real shot. To my surprise, Travis agrees. Somewhere in the midst of planning our wedding, the unthinkable happens. Our feelings for each other become… real.

As the day of our fake marriage grows near, how do I tell Travis I want the real thing and for him to be mine forever?

Jacquie's Review:

Kicking it with my Best Friend is a cute, low angst, slower burn story in the Out and Kickin' series. You can absolutely read this one as a standalone.

I adore arranged/accidental/convenience marriages. Here, we have 2 guys that used to be best friend that had made a promise to marry at 30 if they were still single. When they reconnect, the spark is still there between them and they realize that getting married would solve a lot of their problems.

Seeing them fall in love, or back in love, was really sweet. They had a great connection, and I enjoyed seeing player Parker being respectful of Travis' decision to wait for sex.

Their reason for marrying didn't quite tally. Despite expecting more support from their families, it was their friends who were more present during that time.

The wedding was pretty, and I enjoyed the epilogue. A sweet, fluffy read.
