Illegal Contact brings forth the best banter in and out of the bedroom to show even if you don't want to fall, sometimes you fall hard for the right person. The P1aying for Keeps series just keeps bringing us the right balance of sports and romance to show it can be done right in the MM sports romance genre.
From the blurb:
Tucker: I’ve hated spoiled, cocky Patrick Whitt since the first time I saw him at football camp when we were kids.
Once we made it to the NFL, of course, he landed on the LA Royals, the biggest rivals of my team, the Denver Rush. Everything about him rubs me the wrong way…until one unexpected night, we happen to rub each other the right way, and suddenly I can’t get enough of him.
And Patrick can’t get enough of me either.
I’m his secret, and he’s mine, stealing moments together where he comes undone for me.
There’s more to Patrick than I thought, and now one thing is clear to me.
Despite all of the obstacles in our way, Patrick Whitt is mine.
Whitt: I don’t know what it is about Malik Tucker that gets under my skin, but he irritates the hell out of me. Maybe it’s that he was drafted instead of me to my dream NFL team, the Denver Rush. Or maybe it’s that he’s a force to be reckoned with on the field and adored by fans and his family off the field. He seems to be living the perfect life while I live the perfect lie.
And then we have a chance encounter that changes everything.
We keep it professional on the field, but off the field, there’s all kinds of illegal contact happening between us. Every time we’re together, I’m drawn in deeper, intoxicated by the way Malik makes me feel, the things we do to each other in the bedroom.
At some point, we’re going to have to let go, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to.
Molly Otto's Review:
This series just gets better with each addition. This time, in Illegal Contact, we get to see how Tucker unwillingly falls for his number one rival, Whitt.
The two have serious next level banter in and out of the bedroom. You feel their possessiveness come to life as they get to know the real side of the other.
What makes these such great sports romances is there is a good amount of both sport and relationship talk, so neither side feels heavy-handed.
It's truly amazing how deep both these characters are from what we've seen from the other books, just showing us not to judge a character by outside events.
This is not a standalone. You see events of Rookie Move and False Start through the eyes of Tucker and Whitt to see how this relationship develops over three seasons.
What makes them so endearing is that once they are in, they will do anything and everything for their partner.

Heather's Review:
I love a good enemies to lovers story, especially when it starts early in their lives... and includes a bisexual awakening, a secret romance and personal growth! What starts as a challenge, continues to grow and evolve and spans different seasons.
While you can read this book standalone, it does slot into the series well and overlaps both Rookie Move and False Start, so I do recommend reading the books in order.
