Curiosity Caught the Demon, Possessive Love by Travis Beaudoin

"Another amazing addition to the Possessive Love combined universe told from the demons pov! Not gonna lie cannot stop reading these books. They may all have similar themes (demon/human) but wow, are they all so beautifully different that makes you keep wanting to see more authors take on the theme." Molly, our guest reviewer, turned review team member on Curiosity Caught the Demon.

From the blurb:

He pulled me into his world by mistake. Now I’m trying like hell to bring him into mine.

It’s hard to surprise Gremory. He’s been around for millennia, after all. But when this Duke of Hell is accidentally summoned by Scotty Campbell, the big-hearted owner of a struggling antique shop, he realizes there are still people in the world who can provoke his curiosity.

As Gremory lets himself get tangled up in human emotions and earthly delights, Scotty's big heart and quiet strength become irresistible. What started out as strictly business will blossom into a connection that will stretch the laws of Heaven, Hell, and the local village council.

From witty banter to steamy encounters to the genuine joy two kindred souls find when they work toward a common goal, their relationship will push them farther than they ever expected to go. Sparks will fly, but will they be able to save Scotty’s shop in time for the town’s annual Halloween Festival?

CURIOSITY CAUGHT THE DEMON is a low-angst, small-town, sweet-with-heat romance between a young man and an ancient demon. Expect hot tea, raging infernos, dreams coming true, and a decent amount of sinning. It's part of the POSSESSIVE LOVE anthology series, but it has a self-contained story and can be read as a standalone. 53000 words.

Molly Otto's Review:

I'm not crying. You're crying in the most beautiful soul satisfying way. This was my first book by this author, and if he writes in this beautiful poetic sort of way always, he now will have a fan for life.

The book is written from Gremory (the demons pov) and omg the humor is subtle and delightful that just draws you in; he was brought to earth by a wish from Scotty (not on purpose, mind you) to give him hope in saving his antique shop after his grandma's passing. The two are immediately drawn together, and Gremory does all that he can to build up Scotty to be the man he was always meant to be.

Their relationship is just easy and beautiful.

The ending is just one of those that will stay with you as sad but not sad and all so satisfying, truly a remarkable read.

Angel's Review:

I have not read a book that's been in a demon's POV that makes me feel as though it's real! The way Grem's character is written is really unique! In his pov he explains how he does not feel things the way humans do, he is made up of atoms, not flesh and bones. It was a really intriguing concept that just made me want to keep reading.

I really liked how Grem was a guardian angel of sorts, or rather, a guardian demon. He watched out for Scotty and tried his best to help the man keep his grandmother's shop. I also really appreciated the detail that went into describing all of the history behind some of the antiques that were being sold in the shop, that was really cool.

I thought the relationship itself between Grem and Scotty was a bit if a slow burn, they became close friends pretty quickly. Their romantic relationship slowly formed and developed over time.

Overall I thought this book was really fun to read, I've never read anything like it before. I definitely suggest that you should read this too!
