The Amazing Alpha Tau Boyfriend Project, Lassiter University #1 by Lisa Henry & Sarah Honey

If you're looking for a fluffy, fun, and humorous romance between a clueless frat boy and the sweet guy who falls for him, then you can't miss out on The Amazing Alpha Tau Boyfriend Project!

From the blurb:

At first glance Archer Calloway is your typical frat boy—preppy, pre-law, privileged. But one thing he's not is a jerk. So when a shy guy at a wedding gives Archer his number, Archer is impressed by his courage in putting himself out there.

What starts as a courtesy call to the guy turns into friendship. Eli is awesome, and Archer can't understand why he's single. With the help of his fraternity brothers at Alpha Tau, Archer comes up with the perfect project for the semester: Get Eli Fuller the perfect boyfriend or die trying.

It's a flawless plan and nothing could possibly go wrong.

Uh oh.

The Amazing Alpha Tau Boyfriend Project is a lighthearted contemporary m/m romance containing banter, bad dates, and an oblivious frat boy who is about to discover something new about himself. Or something.

Jacquie's Review:

Ah! So freaking cute. Zero unnecessary drama. Just a blossoming relationship and an oblivious frat bro.
I really appreciated that there was no freak out, just a dawning realization and a ton of support. All the other frat guys were so supportive. I really liked all the side characters.

Not overly steamy, but I liked that

"ɪᴛ ᴡᴀꜱ ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴀɴ ᴇᴘɪꜱᴏᴅᴇ ᴏꜰ Qᴜᴇᴇʀ ᴇʏᴇ ꜰᴏʀ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰʀᴀᴛ ɢᴜʏ."

This book was exactly what I needed after my shitty day today. It was so light and silly and completely enjoyable. I couldn't stop smirking while reading it. All of the frat boys had stolen my heart by the time I finished the book. Archer was adorably clueless, but everything he did came from a good place. He was so kindhearted and spent much of his time helping others. I don't think he was even physically capable of walking past a person he thought was in need. That was just who he was.

We didn't get as much insight into Eli as the book was almost entirely single POV from Archer's perspective. I did enjoy their text exchanges though. I felt like we got a know Eli a bit more through their messaging. I don't know why, but I am such a sucker for a book with text threads between MCs. This one wasn't overtly steamy, but it did have a few good steamy moments.

I'm already excited for book 2 and I may or may not have already read the blurb more than once after double checking the release date. I'm guessing that one is going to be from Marty's POV, but I'm hoping for dual only because that's a personal preference. Personal preferences aside, even though that has stopped me from picking up books before, there is no way in hell I'm going to miss out on Marty's HEA even if it was narrated by a horse. That's how much I enjoyed this fun loving and humorous book by this author collab.

Angel's Review:

I've seen different posts about someone at a wedding giving a guy their number and being let down gently. I, among others, was eagerly waiting for someone to take that and turn it into a romance story. These two authors granted our wish!!

Eli is a total Swiftie, who models for artists in his spare time, who has a crush on Archer. Archer and Eli formed a friendship and a bond unlike anything either of them were expecting. Archer and his fellow frat bros keep trying to set Eli up with the guys they think would be a good boyfriend to Eli. Although, each guy they find ends up being a poor match. When the 'perfect' guy becomes available, Archer (with help from his bros) makes him realize that the reason he always feels so twisted up inside when Eli goes on a date is cause he, himself, wants Eli.

I adored these two. I honestly didn't want their story to ever end. I just loved the humor and the lightness of this book. Don't get me wrong, I like heavy books too, but this book was such a perfect light book that just made me smile! It's definitely going to be a re-read for sure! I don't know how these two authors made me like each side character, especially considering the side characters are all frat bros. I'm looking forward to Marty's story cause I feel like there is more to him than what the others assume. I thought this was a well written, sweet romance story, with so much humor! This book is bound to make you smile.

Sheena's Review:

In the history of oblivious frat boys in MM romance, Archer Calloway is surely the most oblivious of the bunch 😂. This is a fun, light, and sweet romance, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, obliviousness aside. Archer and the Alpha Taus are not your stereotypical frat boys with keggers and sports, rather they're more studious with an eye to the future. I really enjoyed meeting them all and look forward to their respective stories. This, however, is Archer and Eli's story and it's a good one.

There's really not a lot new to the story, gay guy comes on to straight guy but instead of being offended, Archer texts Eli to commend him on shooting his shot and they get talking from there. The friendship between them and its development is such fun to witness, as is Archer's attempts at getting Eli a boyfriend while not realizing his own growing feelings for Eli. It's even better when I realized everyone around Archer and Eli can see it, everyone BUT Archer and the fun they get out of it is plain to see.
There's a lovely moment with his frat brothers when Archer finally gets a clue and a lovely HEA for the pair of them. They're such a good couple, I think, because the friendship was given a chance to develop before they leaped into bed.

I really enjoyed this and really look forward to more in this series.

Heather's Review:

I love me some oblivious frat boy... and honestly Archer is one of the truly oblivious ones... but it's endearing and sweet as he finally opens up to the possibilities of a relationship beyond friendship with Eli and also begins to look past the idea of bromance.

This book is well paced, sweet and not overly steamy, but it hit all the right notes and made me smile!  I am so happy this is the start of a new series and I can't wait for the next one!

KjnRose's Review:

Who doesn't love some frat boy love? This is such a lighthearted, sweet, no drama read that it is perfect for those times you just want something fun to read. Archie has such good intentions with his idea of getting Eli a boyfriend, then ends up falling in love with him.
