State of Mind (Running In Circles Book 3) by E.M. Lindsey

"I love EM Lindsey's writing and the way they tell their characters' stories." Angel read E.M. Lindsey's new release, State of Mind.

From the blurb:

"Whatever happens in the future, whatever we become in life, know you’re the best thing that ever happened to me."

Taking up shop in a former kosher bakery, Wilder Torres aches to find out who he is beyond his dark
past.

He hides his scars under long sleeves, and his nightmares behind a soft smile, and he’s very careful not to let anyone close. And then he meets Luca Moretti, a stranger sitting on a park bench, looking as lost as Wilder had once been.

While Wilder knows the risks in letting himself be vulnerable again, he can’t deny wanting Luca. Because after all, isn’t moving on and embracing who you are nothing more than a state of mind?

It contains cupcakes, homemade pasta nights, found family, a slow burn into love, and as always, a happily ever after.

Running In Circles is the former series On The Market, and this novel was previously titled Love Him Steady. It has been completely revamped and re-written with names, places, characters, and major plot points changed.

Angel's Review:

State Of Mind is a revised and rewritten book of a previous release. I had read the previous version of this book, but I think this one was so much better.

This book is Wilder and Luca's story, how they met, got to know each other, and ultimately, how they fell in love. I'm always so stunned and blown away by EM's writing. Their stories are always so realistic and relatable. They make characters that you can't help but to relate to and feel for. The way EM writes invokes emotions from whomever is reading their stories. I enjoyed the slow burn of Luca and Wilder's romance. It needed to be a slow burn between these two. They both had a lot to learn about themselves and a lot to deal with before they could fully give a part of themselves to each other. I really enjoyed Raphael's character, he was such a good friend to Luca. He was brash and harsh at times, but he was honest, and that went such a long way with Luca. I loved the characters in this book. I really hope Raphael gets his own happy ending.

This book had humor, and it also has some serious subjects that get discussed, but this book will ultimately make you happy and will make you feel good in by the time you finish Luca and Wilder's story.

Overall, a really terrific story about a baker, and a man who's lost and unsure of himself.
