Spicy and sweet, Nicolai is another novella in the An Incubus' Mate series.

Gadreel and Nicolai both have their insecurities over having a relationship, but Gadreel prefers to be in one than hooking up.

They have a lovely connection and communicate well. It translates to the bedroom, and there's a fab scene with a knot.

Short and very cute. I like the brothers and the found family aspect a lot

Well hello spicy shapeshifter/incubus pairing. From my reading experience, Wise tends to write short and sweet novellas. This is no exception. Yes it's pretty steamy, which I absolutely loved, but there are also plenty of cute little sweet moments to make your heart smile. Gadreel is the shyer of the three incubus triplets who are new to the area. They just so happen to set up their new sweets shop in the mall that shapeshifter Nicolai works security at. And if Nicolai's eyes tend to always follow the sexy little incubus, well then he's just being good at his job making sure everything is alright with the newcomers.

I really loved how Gadreel was so accepting of Nicolai. He didn't need him to shift into somebody else to please him. He liked him in whatever skin he was most comfortable with. That was refreshing for a man like Nicolai who was used to people asking him to give them a taste of their fantasies. Both had been used in the past by others assuming due to their species that neither of them would be looking for love. This was far from the truth. And when they both admitted that commitment was what they were looking for, it was full speed ahead.

Book 3 is next and there's only one triplet left: Andras. I was pumped to know that he's being paired with Bren, whom is the title namesake of the book. These two are going to be quite the pair and I'm excited to see how their love story plays out!

I have been eager for the next book in this new series to come out, and I'm so happy it's finally here! This book is about Gadreel, the oldest of the incubi brothers. He has a massive crush on Nick, the Mall's security guard. But Gadreel is way too shy and awkward to do something about it himself, so when Nick shows his interest at a Halloween party he can't pass up the opportunity to have a chance with the man he's wanted. From that night they figure out what works for them, and how they feel about each other.

I enjoyed this story, with Toby's books you are guaranteed to get a sweet, cute, heartfelt romance book, with paranormal elements. And that's exactly what we got with Nicoli and Gadreel, plus there was steamy elements involved as well. Spiked chocolate may have had a part to play with getting these two in bed together. 

The writing is always good, as was this book, the characters are always complimentary to the main characters, and the romance was done well! My favorite character was Beatrice, I honestly wished she was in more of the story.. I mean having a dragon kitty as a pet?! Yes, please! Where can I adopt one? 

Overall a really great read, I'm looking forward to the next brother's story.

Being in relationships is hard especially when you’re a lu$t demon. Everyone just assumes that Gadreel only want to feed and that anyone will do. Not so, Gadreel wants and craves a partner to be with. Someone who will be his forever not just for right now. Nicolai feels the same way. As a changeling, he sometimes feels that because he can be anyone and do anything a partner needs that he isn’t wanted just as himself. Both men want  a forever person, but are they brave enough to ask for one? 

I enjoyed the first book, Raphael, and I truly loved Nicolai. This book is a sweet feel good romance about two people who want something so bad and are afraid to reach out. Oh how true that can be. My favorite thing about the book is that as both men got closer to the other they got braver and more willing to reveal their true selves. I consider this a fantastic book!  I’m so glad that Toby Wise was recommended to me. I’m slowly reading his backlist and love what I’ve read so far.
