Save Me (Damaged Goods Book 3) by Scarlet Blackwell

Another heartbreaking addition to the damaged good series, Save Me takes the angst and sadness up a thousand notches. Scarlett will break you and throw you to the wolves to survive this journey through murder, loss and destruction.

From the blurb:

The man I see in the mirror now wears nice suits and has an expensive haircut. I like to think he doesn’t look like a whore, but then I never study his eyes too closely. I can’t bear to.

Morgan Martin is a high class rent boy with a dark past. No kissing on the mouth is his cardinal rule and he sticks to it.
Logan Madden is his new client, a man with touch and trust issues, bringing his own past traumas to a bed that’s soon awash with guilt and memories as well as explosive passion.

And he’s a cop.

Against his better judgment, Morgan takes him on. Things become complicated. Rules are made to be broken and the two of them are falling deep into something neither of them can control.

I want to ask him to be something he was never supposed to be.

Morgan isn’t free to be with anyone. He’s in thrall to the gangster who runs Moonlight Cove, the man who hurts him and beats him, and demands his utter loyalty. Keeping this from Logan becomes harder and harder until all their lives are shattered by fall out no one could have predicted.

Tatted_book_freak's Review:

Scarlett has successfully ripped my heart out, stomped on it, ran it over and put a damaged organ back into my body, and expects me to survive. The intensity of emotions, severity of unexpected events, adversity of traumatic experiences and the fear of losing each other has left me emotionally drained and unable to function.

“𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕟𝕠 𝕚𝕕𝕖𝕒 𝕙𝕠𝕨 𝕞𝕦𝕔𝕙 𝕀 𝕨𝕒𝕟𝕥 𝕥𝕠 𝕥𝕠𝕦𝕔𝕙 𝕪𝕠𝕦. 𝔹𝕦𝕥 𝕨𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕀 𝕜𝕚𝕤𝕤𝕖𝕕 𝕪𝕠𝕦, 𝕀 𝕗𝕖𝕝𝕥 𝕤𝕒𝕗𝕖 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕤𝕥 𝕥𝕚𝕞𝕖 𝕚𝕟 𝕞𝕪 𝕝𝕚𝕗𝕖.”

Morgan and Logan are both damaged with tormented pasts, taking comfort in their undeniable chemistry, falling hard, only to be forced into a whirlwind of twists, followed by death and destruction. The heartache, loss and pain endured by friends, murder by an obsessed man, mixed with crooked cops leads us on a journey of a love that survives it all.

𝕆𝕦𝕣 𝕤𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕪 𝕚𝕤 𝕠𝕟𝕝𝕪 𝕛𝕦𝕤𝕥 𝕓𝕖𝕘𝕚𝕟𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘. 𝕄𝕪 𝕤𝕠𝕦𝕝 𝕨𝕚𝕝𝕝 𝕓𝕖 𝕛𝕠𝕚𝕟𝕖𝕕 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕗𝕒𝕣 𝕓𝕖𝕪𝕠𝕟𝕕 𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕥𝕚𝕞𝕖 𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖.

Their emotional connection is worth all the tears and pain felt throughout. I have never felt so overwhelmed with feelings, or connected to characters as intensely as I have with these two characters in Save Me. Nor have I ever read a story where the characters didn’t deserve more than a HEA, they deserved every star in the universe to call their own together. Ten stars for a more than gratifying ending, taking a heartbreaking journey and turning it into a beautiful love story for centuries to come.

Rating: 5 Stars
