King Hunt, Perfect Play #3 by Layla Reyne

King Hunt is the final book in the Perfect Play series where Levi and Marsh are rushing to finally close their case and put their targets behind bars. Even when separated Levi and Marsh never lose sight of their love and their end goal to eventually be together as a family. A great finale for a couple that started in a fake marriage that ended up being everything real.

From the blurb:

When love is the only play that matters…

Agents Bishop and Marshall know:
The clock is ticking.
They control the most dangerous pieces on the board.
Sacrifices will be required to win the game.

Levi and Marsh need to:
Get home to each other and their son.
Fall asleep in each other’s arms again.
Start living the happily-ever-after the rings on their fingers promise.

What began as a marriage of convenience is now the rock Marsh and Levi cling to as they enter the endgame.
But defeating two kings is no easy feat.
They’ll have to make all the right moves and lure their enemies to their side of the board where they have the advantage.
But winning may cost them everything—their careers, their lives, and the love that’s become the center of their world.

King Hunt is the final book of the Perfect Play trilogy and should be read after Dead Draw and Bad Bishop. This swoony, single dad, marriage of convenience romance matches two mature, competent men and delivers the happily-ever-after they both so deeply deserve.

SNik's Review:

Third in series (Perfect Play), must be read in order. Action/suspense. Established couple.

This is the final book of the series so it is a race to close their case and catch the criminals for FBI agents and husbands Levi and Marsh. International travel, some more action, and plenty of continued cameos from favorite legal and illegal characters from the author’s previous books.

Even though their being together has been a whirlwind and not a very long time period, Levi and Marsh are fully dedicated to each other and looking forward to building their life together with their son David and their extended families once the case is closed.

Levi and Marsh never stop trusting and believing in each other and the respect and love is beyond swoony.

Really enjoyed this couple and this series. I wouldn’t mind a short revisit with this couple a little further along in their HEA, just saying, Ms. Reyne :-).

Tatted_book_freak's Review:

What an ending to an action-packed series of mysteries, suspense, and love! The twists and turns continue to unwind; the plot thickens, and complex scenarios with pawns thrown out as bait will have your wheels contemplating the next move.

𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝓰𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓶𝓮 𝓪 𝓱𝓸𝓶𝓮 𝓯𝓸𝓻 𝓶𝔂 𝓱𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓽. 𝓛𝓮𝓽 𝓶𝓮 𝓰𝓲𝓿𝓮 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓪 𝓱𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓽 𝓽𝓸 𝓬𝓸𝓶𝓮 𝓱𝓸𝓶𝓮 𝓽𝓸,

Marsh was just what Levi and their son, David, needed to flourish. Their dedication to one another was solid, loyalty A-1, and chemistry off the charts! Witnessing their relationship grow into beautiful perfection, their love clearly defined, and passion withstanding through the most challenging battles, Layla effortlessly gave them their HEA.

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓽 𝓸𝓯 𝓪 𝓼𝓮𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓭 𝓬𝓱𝓪𝓷𝓬𝓮 𝓯𝓸𝓻 𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓱𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓽. 𝓕𝓸𝓻 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮.

I loved the Madigan cameos, specifically their protection, combined with Levi’s expertise and Marsh’s intelligence, finally leads to the checkmate of Eder Capital.

Jacqueleen the Reading Queen's Review:

Whoa what a ride! King Hunt gives us the conclusion of Marsh and Levi's suspenseful story which all started with a good ol fashioned marriage of convenience. There were a lot of twists and turns in this series. An entire board full of major players. I didn't know if these two could pull everything off in the end with how many different ways the ending could go.

The majority of the book was focused on the suspense aspect as our MCs weren't working in the same vicinity for most of it. But you best believe they made up for it in their little stolen moments in between working the case. Damn Marsh has got a dirty mouth. Such a cowboy. I loved him. I also loved him with Levi. Falling in love gave both men everything they ever wanted. For Levi it was stability and a partner to go through life with. For Marsh, it was a person for him to give his big heart to. And he even got a bonus son in the deal. It was a perfect match. Their trilogy was enthralling and I hope to see these characters pop up again in future books.

"You gave me a home for my heart. Let me give you a heart to come home to."

PS: The dedication? Perfect as well <3
