His Lordship's Blood, His Lordship’s Mysteries #4 by Samantha SoRelle

His Lordship's Blood, the newest entry into his Lordship's Mysteries series by Samantha SoRelle, does not disappoint. Alfie and Nick are looking into Nick's possible family ties and once again find themselves embroiled in a murder investigation. Will Nick have to choose between his possible family and Alfie, and are they both in danger from a devious murderer? Highly recommend this series for historical romance fans or anyone that wants to read about a devoted and deeply in love couple that cannot seem to avoid action and intrigue.

From the blurb:

Even after a year of having an earl for a lover, Dominick still isn’t prepared for the dazzling high
society of Bath with its ruinous gossip and scandalous fashions. All he wants is to uncover who his parents are so he and Alfie can return to their quiet life in Scotland. But as long-buried secrets come to light, Dominick finds himself trapped in a web of intrigue that may prove impossible to escape.

When an old acquaintance winds up dead, it’s almost a relief. With a murder to solve, Alfie and Dominick have a distraction from the jaws of fate slowly closing around them. Assuming, of course, that they can avoid being murdered themselves.

Alfie knows how much learning the truth about his family means to Dominick, but as events begin to spin out of control, it soon becomes clear that knowledge may come with a terrible cost—their happiness, their relationship, and even their lives.

His Lordship’s Blood is the fourth novel in the His Lordship’s Mysteries series.

SNik's Review:

Fourth in series (His Lordship’s Mysteries), must be read in order. Historical mystery. Established couple.

Traveling to Bath, Alfie and Nick are searching for answers to Nick’s past and of course run into a another murder mystery. This adventure includes a new set of secondary characters, a run in with some familiar past associates, and Nick’s discovering his parentage which may make him choose between duty and love.

As ever, Alfie and Nick are fully committed to each other, their relationship unshakable, and the outside pressures although seemingly impossible to overcome cannot break their forever bond.

This series and its couple is a favorite of mine, the writing is fantastic, the characters compelling, the historical setting realistic, and the mysteries are always entertaining.

I will read everything and anything that includes Alfie and Nick, their special connection is full of all the love and romance.
