Don't Look Back in Anger, Two Tribes #3 by Kristian Parker

Kristian saved the best for last, with Don't Look Back in Anger and went out with a bang with this ending!

From the blurb:

Revenge is best served cold, yet old embers can burn hot.

Lorenzo de Luca has come back to Manchester with revenge on his mind.

Supposedly killed by evil gangster Jonny Wellingham’s hitmen fifteen years ago, Lorenzo has waited a long time for this. He has to stay focused. And he does…until a past lover comes back into his life.

But old embers can spark a flame and the couple pick up where they left off—but the war has only just begun, and everyone is fair game…and Lorenzo’s distraction gives Jonny the opportunity he needs to strike a deadly blow.

Torn between his burning need for vengeance and the scorching heat of love, which will Lorenzo sacrifice?

Tatted_book_freak's Review:

“ℍ𝕠𝕨 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕗𝕦𝕔𝕜 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕖? 𝕐𝕠𝕦’𝕣𝕖 𝕕𝕖𝕒𝕕.”

What a finish to an earnest series! The betrayal along with deception was executed perfectly, and the revelations were definitely shocking. Kristian has a unique style of writing, which connected with me right away.  And, his character development was absolutely amazing!

“𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕔𝕒𝕞𝕖 𝕥𝕠 𝕤𝕖𝕖 𝕞𝕖 𝕝𝕚𝕜𝕖 𝕀 𝕔𝕒𝕞𝕖 𝕥𝕠 𝕤𝕖𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦. 𝔹𝕖𝕔𝕒𝕦𝕤𝕖 𝕨𝕖 𝕔𝕒𝕟’𝕥 𝕣𝕖𝕤𝕚𝕤𝕥. 𝕃𝕖𝕥’𝕤 𝕟𝕠𝕥 𝕜𝕚𝕕 𝕠𝕦𝕣𝕤𝕖𝕝𝕧𝕖𝕤.”

There’s nothing better than an unexpected reunion of previous lovers, and Kristian turned up the fire!! It has always been known Uncle Z had a lover in his past, one who still has his heart, but the shock came with who it was answered a lot of questions! And, they wasted absolutely no time diving right back into each other’s arms.

The intensity of the mafia life was just as amazing as the previous two.  Revenge always makes any story fierce, but the twists and turns were acutely written. Ten stars for an exceptional experience!

SNik's Review:

Third in series (Two Tribes), must be read in order. Second chance. Single POV.

Lorenzo has waited 15 years to get his revenge, and to possibly rekindle the love he lost when he barely escaped Manchester with his life. Harry isn’t expecting his dead lover to suddenly reappear years later, and even though he never stopped loving him, Lorenzo is the mafia boss trying to push out the current criminal regime in which Harry plays a central part.

It’s always fun to read a second chance when the two main characters easily fall into a relationship with each other again, although I do wish there had been more about their past (or flashbacks) discussing how much in love Harry and Lorezo had been when they were younger.

Filled with action, betrayals, steamy times, and the continuing cast of secondary characters, Don't look Back in Anger gives a nice finale to the series with all the couples getting their HFN’s and the bad guys getting their comeuppance.
