Renovating the Model, Forestville Silver Foxes #1 by Nora Phoenix

First in a new series, Renovating the Model features an age-gap in this small town romance.

From the blurb:

Everyone knows my face. No one knows the real me.

All people see when they look at me is a beautiful man, a supermodel, half of the world’s most famous twins. No one sees the man underneath.

When I return to Forestville, the small town I grew up in, for my high school reunion, I impulsively decide to stay.

I’m now the proud owner of a house, an absolute fixer-upper. Never mind that I have two left hands.

Thank god for Cas, the local contractor, who agrees to help me out. We come from completely different worlds and are almost twenty years apart, yet we somehow connect.

Cas sees me, the real me.

We hook up…
Then become friends…
With benefits (courtesy of a snow storm)...
And a fake relationship (long story)...

But when fake becomes real and pretending turns into feelings I can’t deny, I’m left wondering if what we have stands a chance.

Renovating the Model is the first book in the new Forestville Silver Foxes series, a contemporary small-town MM romance series featuring hot silver foxes and the men who fall in love with them. Each book can be read as a standalone.

Sheena's Review:

This is the first in a new series, and I think also my first from this author.  I enjoyed it so much it's definitely not going to be my last.  The description is pretty much my catnip - older MC, age gap, small town homecoming romance.  It was exactly what I was in the mood for, low angst too.

Tiago and his twin Tomas are very successful models who have come back to the town they grew up in for a high school reunion, and Tiago meets Cas, a local contractor who is working on the hotel they're staying at.  There's an instant spark between them, I loved the first meeting, it was so adorably awkward yet funny.  I really liked both Cas and Tiago, Cas' story is quite moving, and I loved how Tiago never saw his scars, just saw Cas.  They were so unutterably sweet together, and yes, hot too.  There's plenty of heat here, Tiago knows exactly what he wants and is unashamed to ask for it.  It's so sex-positive and I loved that about them.

Renovating the Model is such a lovely story and I loved the setting too.  The cast of side characters are all great too, and I had so much fun trying to work out who the other couples in the series are going to be.  I am certainly interested in finding out and cannot wait for more in this series.

Heather's Review:

What a fabulous start to a new series!  The Forestville Silver Foxes are all yummy in their own way and I can't wait to see what pairings we get and if any new people get added to the mix...

I love the relationship between Tiago and Cas and how it evolves from hook-up to happiness!  This book has a lot of world building and a slower pace than some of Nora's previous books, but I lapped it up and loved how the men toured town a few times and we got introduced to so many of the townspeople and learned more about the friends who will be central to the rest of the series!

Renovating the Model is a lovely, low angst story with a lovely setting and such a wonderful fit between MCs!

Dez's Review:

Tiago is a world renowned top tier model and dammit if he didn’t know it (as if the world would let him forget his status so easily).

Tiago and his twin brother Tomás find themselves back in the small town they grew up in for their school reunion. Many things begin to hit Tiago all at once but perhaps the biggest (okay maybe just a tad smaller than Tiago) has him stumbling in what he thought he wanted out of life. Was the thickly built sexy contractor worth changing himself? Was it worth Tiago staying in this small town?

Cas was the impossibly sweet contractor in the small town that many of the town folk relied on. He was a man’s man and didn’t mind getting a bit of dust (more like loads) on his denim jeans.

All Cas wanted to do was live the small town life, he loved the tight knit of Forestville and it’s residence’s and he wanted nothing more to change and it seemed like it wasn’t. Until he met Tiago Banner. The sexiest man Cas had ever seen.

You won’t be disappointed in Tiago and Cas’s firework of a relationship! I loved every dip and dive and enjoyed learning more of these two on a deeper level.

Renovating the Model is the first book in the Forestville Silver Foxes Series. I look forward to reading more about the men of Forestville as the series continue!
