Good Behavior by Kelly Fox (Wild Heart Ranch book 2)

A forbidden relationship that may just be worth the risk. Nacho used to be Bram's patient and Bram can't seem to stay away no matter what the rules say. When Nacho is totally on board with their blooming dynamic, there is nothing that will stop them from being together.

From the blurb for Good Behavior:

From USA Today Best-Selling Author Kelly Fox comes a spicy forbidden romance between an ex-con and his prison therapist.

There’s not much I miss about prison, save for the buttoned-up therapist who doled out subtle commands and generous praise in equal measure. We never spoke of the crackling tension between us, but every time he straightened my posture or called me a good boy, we knew what was going on.

Now, over a year after my early release for good behavior, we find ourselves in the same small Texas town, connected to the same ranch, appropriately named Wild Heart.

As our sexy, unspoken dynamic fires up again, we become involved with the ranch’s secret mission—to rescue and support people who’ve been trafficked. Between harrowing missions and our escalating passions, there’s no way for us to stop what’s coming next.

And we don’t want to.

Good Behavior is a slightly murderous forbidden romance that features a a heavily tattooed ex-con, a therapist who knows better, and a whole lot of bad behavior.

Wild Heart Ranch is a spin-off of the Rebel Sky Ranch series. All of my series have crossover elements but can be enjoyed on their own. Fair warning—you may find yourself wanting the backstory.

No cliffhangers (save for the sneak peek at the end), and the HEA is always guaranteed. #murderswoon

KJNRose's Review:

Again Kelly Fox has written an absolutely amazing book. I love this series and the ones before that is in this universe. Wonderful characters and a great storyline that keep you wanting to read from start to finish. Can't wait to see what comes next.

SNik's Review:

Second in series (Wild Heart Ranch), can be read as a stand-alone but might be more fun if read in order. Light BDSM. Found family. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.

Bram quit his work as a prison psychologist, trying to focus on being a therapist for traumatized individuals, especially those surviving human trafficking and perhaps doing more to help. Interacting with his former patient Nacho is a slippery slope as the former prisoner makes Bram want to do all kinds of wrong things, Nacho even encourages the inappropriate relationship they have begun.

The close relationships that these men have with friends and family show depth in both Bram and Nacho as characters and individuals. Nacho is no pushover for Bram and the initial power imbalance never seemed predatory to me. Bram and Nacho stumble upon something special that grows between them, it crosses lines and they decide it’s worth everything to pursue.

Kelly Fox writes a UST slow burn that is so steamy, the beginning of the book was my favorite as both men struggled with their feelings and coming to their own sense of right and wrong when it comes to relationships, violence and what they are willing to do to be happy. Very entertaining read.

Heather's Review:

I loved the push and pull of the relationship between Bram and Nacho - the slow burn, the steamy simmer and the ultimate HEA.  I love the depth of the world that these men are in - their friends, family and ranch interactions help us see their true personalities and their strengths.

I did have a little trouble following some of the action - I don't know if it was me and my allergy induced haze or the intricacies of the storyline, but I did stumble a few times in certain sections.
