Touched by the Morningstar: Enemies and Lovers, Rise of the Fallen #5 by Lissa Kasey

Coming to an end yet hints slowly being given for the future. Enemies and Lovers is the finale of this serial.

From the blurb:

Locked away with the prince of sorrow, Yuri finds his power adores life, love, and Lucian.

Prince to the King of Nightmares, Lucian has mastered hiding his pain, loneliness, and hunger until Yuri brings him light and bread pudding. With magic erupting with nature to fuel Yuri’s magic, the pair find comfort in each other.

But as the Monster’s castle begins to wake and the walls narrow, Yuri’s flourishing magic wanes as their world is torn apart by shadows. Lucian races to face his sire and free himself and Yuri from the Monster’s grasp before they both are devoured by the darkness.

When nightmares and reality merge, will Star let anyone else have Yuri’s heart?

Jacquie's Review:

Enemies and Lovers is the last chapter of this serial, the equivalent of book 1 being finished. It does leave things on a cliffhanger, but Enemies and Lovers had everything! I really don't want to say too much for spoilers, but I'm pretty sure my theories are correct.

Steam, sweetness from Lucian, a ton of growth and some answers. The bigger picture is getting clearer
Book 2 please!

Tatted_book_freak's Review:

When am I able to start screaming?!?!  With the end of the first book coming to a close, on a cliffhanger might I add, there are still A LOT of unanswered questions!

𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣 𝕙𝕒𝕕 𝕓𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕒𝕨𝕒𝕜𝕖𝕟𝕖𝕕 𝕚𝕟 𝕙𝕚𝕞 𝕟𝕖𝕖𝕕𝕖𝕕 𝕖𝕟𝕖𝕣𝕘𝕪, 𝕨𝕒𝕣𝕞𝕥𝕙, 𝕒𝕗𝕗𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟, 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕝𝕠𝕧𝕖.

So, things continued to heat up between Yuri and Lucian, to the point of bodily changes and unexpected additions. But, Yuri was finally reunited with Theo while he was also able to see Star again.

The passion, growth, desire, and intimacy within this world is unbelievable! Cannot wait to see what happens next, hopefully we’ll receive answers soon and Star will finally be set free along with Yuri’s reunion of love!

Holly's Review:

Slowly but surely we get to piece together what's happening with Yuri. The return of Theo and more snippets of Star are a welcome addition to this episode.

We're left on a cliffhanger but I can feel the story building, and can't wait to see what happens next.

Angel's Review:

I have enjoyed every single serial so far in this series, and I think I enjoyed this one the most. There was so many more details to absorb in this book, we got to learn even more about Yuri and Lucian.

I enjoy that we get to discover more about Yuri and his powers with each book we read, it's really fascinating and so enjoyable!

The background is fantastic I really enjoy the setting this book takes place in, I don't read too many dystopian books but this one is so good. And the characters are so mysterious and intriguing, I just want to know more about them!

I'm eager to read more especially because this one ended with a cliffhanger.
