Kairo's Billionaire (Shadow Elite #2) by Jocelynn Drake

More international action for Kairo's Billionaire, the second book of the Shadow Elite series by Jocelynn Drake. When a mercenary meets a protective young billionaire, what else can he do but fall in love with the man?

From the blurb:

Kidnapped.

Someone of his skill should not have been kidnapped at all. Let alone so easily.

But when Kairo Jones wakes up halfway around the world with a reclusive billionaire begging for his help, the mercenary knows he can’t say no.

He also knows that he might be in over his head.

While Charlie and the rest of the team race to locate their missing member, Kairo fights to keep the sexy man with the sad eyes alive long enough to get some answers.

Kairo’s Billionaire is the second full-length novel in the Shadow Elite series and features mercenaries, assassins, danger, explosions, a brooding billionaire with a battered heart, and love on the run in Greece.

SNik's Review:

Second in series (Shadow Elite), best if read in order. Action/suspense. Insta-love. Found family. Slow burn. Dual POV.

Kairo gets kidnapped for his hacking skills, but there is no way he won’t rescue the billionaire and his sister that are likely to be killed if he doesn’t help. Isidore will do anything to protect his sister, and he hopes that he can make it up to Kairo, since the handsome mercenary was dragged into this mess by Isidore himself.

Falling for Isidore isn’t in the cards. Kairo lives a dangerous nomadic life and, even though Isidore is sweet and caring, what could a former soldier possibly offer a man that has everything? And even though Isidore wants to take the risk and be with Kairo, he has never even held a gun, so how can he hope to be part of Kairo’s volatile life?

Two opposites that would otherwise never have met, but equally bring joy and protectiveness out in each other. All the small moments between them are cute and build quickly to romance and love. It definitely felt like Isidore and Kairo were meant to be together.

The fun secondary cast of familiar supportive characters, and some adventure and honest communication between Kairo and Isidore, made this an entertaining read.
