Distraction by Kelly Fox

Kelly Fox has produced one of her darkest and yet, funniest Mafia romance to date...Distraction

From the blurb:

Look, no one's ever accused me of being sane, y'know? So when I say that I am crazy over this RICO agent, know that I mean business.

Sure, I'm responsible for getting him fired from the job he's wanted his whole life, but his grandfather just died and left him 13.1 billion dollars. Dude deserves a break, is all I'm saying. And yeah, I'm a violent mobster with a savior complex, but that shouldn't get in the way of our epic love story.

Besides, a little gunplay in the bedroom is good for the soul.

Distraction is a Mafia romance that features a frustrated RICO agent-slash-reluctant billionaire, a delightfully deranged mob enforcer with questionable boundaries, and a simple takedown that ends up a little...explosive.
As with all of my morally gray do-gooder romances, there are no cliffhangers, and the HEA is guaranteed.

Heather's Review:

Hopper has a wonderful innocence balanced by a pathological need to kill bad people and so much love for Liam - the RICO investigator who tailed him before he started tailing Liam...

Hopper has been an intriguing character since the beginning of the book and the one who would be voted as most morally gray in the Mobsters and Billionaires series, but omg - it works!

As Liam becomes distanced from the law and order FBI job of his past, he gets to know more about what makes Hopper tick and so do we all - and it's delicious!

Distraction is a steamy, murder=swoon read that is a perfect ending to the Mobsters and Billionaires series.  While the HEA is standalone, you'll enjoy this book more if you read from the beginning and understand the whole transformation and back story that brings us to Hopper's and Liam's HEA!

Trigger warnings for past abuse discussions, murder and consensual weapons play during intimacy.

SNik's Review:

Fourth in series (Mobsters + Billionaires), best if read in order due to the continuing cast of characters. Slow burn. Found family. Dual POV.

Hopper insists that Liam started stalking him first, an FBI agent shouldn't follow him around unless he expects the same, right? Losing his grandfather and his job, Liam is struggling with his massive inheritance and dealing with the overenthusiastic Hopper, who takes way too much pleasure in his murdery job. An killer in love and the man who learns to appreciate him, this is Hopper and Liam's story.

Take one impulsive mob enforcer that takes pride in his murder jobs and add in a newly minted billionaire former FBI agent that he loves to stalk and you have Hopper and Liam. More background history is provided for Hopper and Liam, and it takes a while for Liam to let go of his law enforcement training to accept the darker side of Hopper’s killer activities. Hopper is sweet, already in love with Liam and fights hard to get Liam’s affection, whereas it took me a while to warm up to Liam, eventually they get to an established relationship. Once they are together there is no stopping the action, romance, steamy times, and swoon, and of course the supportive cast of secondary characters that make up the family of men that are willing to do anything for each other.

The best parts of Distraction are when Hopper and Liam are working together, on vacation, on a date, or killing bad guys, Liam falling in love with Hopper made this a wonderful read.
