Can't Forget You - Alessia Imogen

A mafia heir trying to make his place in the family while pining after his childhood best friend. Can Leo and Johnny survive mafia dealings while declaring their love?

From the blurb for Can't Forget You:

Leonardo Bianchi is back in Rome after four years, and not much has changed: he's still deeply in love
with his childhood best friend and favorite mechanic, Johnny. Leonardo's parents are still disagreeable at best. His father still has expectations for him to be the perfect mafia heir he's very much not suited to be.

And racing is still the only time when his mind is free of all that shit.

He's barely set foot in his hometown, and he's in charge of his very first deal: it should be simple, but he decides to get Johnny involved, and everything goes to hell. Can Leonardo protect the one most dear to him while still proving himself a worthy Bianchi?

SNik's Review:

First in series (Soft Mafia). Quick read. Childhood best friends. Slow burn. Single POV.

Heir to the Bianchi mafia family, Leonardo has returned after 4 years away, back to start conducting business for the family and perhaps pursue his longtime yearning for something more than friendship with his best friend Johnny. It is a slow buildup as the story shows Leo’s place in his family as well as his friendship with Johnny.

A fun story, entertaining with a little action and background, but as it is Leo’s POV, we don’t get a sense of Johnny’s feelings until late in the story. Looking forward to the second book for more emotions between Leo and Johnny as well as the expansion of the story, as there are definitely hints of more family drama to come. HFN.
