A Winter Crush (A Nymph Solstice Romance #3) by Gigi Rivers

Trust is a hard thing when you've been left behind before. A beautiful young mountain nymph tries to get to know an older lonely potter during the holiday season. Luckily love triumphs in A Winter Crush, the latest addition to A Nymph Solstice Romance series.

From the blurb:

An MM fantasy winter holiday novella.

A mountain nymph with a crush. A man scared to have his heart broken.

Ori’s world stopped the moment he saw the human at his pottery wheel. He didn’t know why. The man was older than Ori. And much larger. In fact, he was the complete opposite to Ori. Nonetheless, Ori knew that he wanted the man’s dark eyes focused on him.

Wareth’s life is as he wants it. Sure, his closest friend says he’s lonely, grumpy, and unwilling to open himself up. But Wareth knows the truth. If you make yourself vulnerable, you’ll get your heart broken.

When an eager, young mountain nymph turns up and looks at Wareth in ways he shouldn’t, it stirs something deep inside him. But is Wareth willing to take a chance? Or will Ori’s crush remain unrequited?

Jacquie's Review:

A Winter Crush is another sweet novella in this series with an age gap and grumpy/sunshine tropes.

Great characters including side ones. I feel like this one stands more on its own compared to the other two as it focuses on the relationship more than the village as a whole.

I liked the pair together and would love more from the village.

Angel's Review:

Another good addition to this new series!

This story was about Wareth who's a potter, and Ori who's a oread. Ori is fascinated by Wareth and wants to learn more about the human. Wareth just wants to be left alone. He doesn't like change, and he doesn't like that Ori is younger than him and in his shop.

Little by little though, Ori worms his way into Wareth's heart.

I enjoyed this book just like I enjoyed the others in this wintery series. I'm not going to lie. I wasn't a big fan of Wareth's character. I loved reading about pottery and all of the fascinating facts that were heavily detailed, but I just didn't care for his character. He's too grumpy, and he takes the people in his life for granted. He just irks me for some reason.

I loved Ori. He's so sweet, kind, and caring. He's so eager to learn and only wants to help those he cares about.

This book, like the others, was very well written and incredibly detailed. I've loved these books so much.

I recommend this book!

SNik's Review:

Third in series (A Nymph Solstice Romance), but can be read as a standalone. Fantasy. Age gap. Hurt/comfort. Dual POV.

Ori can’t help his fascination with the human potter, but Wareth is content with his lonely life, and he believes Ori is much too young and beautiful to want to be with Wareth. As Ori tries over and over again to gain Wareth’s affection, they slowly build a friendship and then, finally, Wareth takes a risk with his heart.

Gigi Rivers has a talent for getting the reader to have a fast emotional connection with the main characters and the hesitation, yearning and new love feelings between Ori and Wareth are sweet and romantic. Another cute holiday read to round out this series.
