Wrangled by KC Wells (Salvation Book 1)

Wrangled marks the start of a new series from KC Wells set on a beautiful working ranch in Montana. Robert and Toby may live different lives, but when they are together the connection is undeniable. Can a vacation with a mature and lonely submissive be everything an unemotional Dom never knew he was looking for?

From the blurb:

City boy Toby Merrow needs a change of scenery, and two weeks at a dude ranch seems the perfect
solution, even though it’s a far cry from the scenes of San Francisco. Not much chance of finding anything like that out in the wilds of Montana. But who knows? If he’s really lucky, one of the other guests will show up on Scruff —or even better, Recon. That’s if Toby has energy for anything else after spending his days riding out and herding cattle…

Grizzled ranch owner Robert Thorston’s foreman died five years ago, but Robert lost far more than a trusted right-hand man. That door is firmly closed, however, and the trappings that lie behind it are gathering dust. He’s thrown himself into his business, never giving that part of his life a second thought—until a new guest catches his eye.

It’s obvious from the start Robert and Toby have a connection, one they are keen to make the most of in Robert’s bed. No strings, no complications, and itches get scratched - well, most of them.

Then Toby discovers the coiled ropes under Robert’s bed, and the leather cuffs in the nightstand drawer…

SNik's Review:

First in series (Salvation). Age gap. BDSM. Hurt/comfort. Found family. Slow burn. Dual POV.

Robert lost his Dom unexpectedly 5 years ago and hasn’t been the same since. He is lonely and now that he has closure maybe he can be someone's submissive again. When Toby appears at the dude ranch, he expects riding and wide open spaces, but what he doesn’t expect is Robert needing a connection and pushing all of Toby’s Dom buttons. Toby is on vacation and doesn’t do emotions but he and Robert agree to a short-term agreement to play together, but feelings get in the way even though both men know that Toby has to return home.

Wrangled revolves mostly around Robert’s backstory and introducing the Salvation ranch with its secondary characters that will eventually become the main characters in the series. There is an immediate connection between Robert and Toby, the trust is fast, which is common with BDSM relationships, and Toby is a patient and generous Dom fulfilling a lot of Robert’s emotional and physical needs. Robert and Toby are sweet together, have mature conversations and steamy interactions.

An entertaining read and introduction to a new series.

Heather's Review:

A new KC Wells series that combines BDSM with cowboys, sign me up for all seven books!  This first book, Wrangled, tells Toby and Robert's story - both of whom come to a point in their lives where they need a change and luckily they are in the same place at the same time... and the bonus is that it's one of my favourite tropes - older sub/younger dom.

This book, like many BDSM stories has a fairly instant connection, lots of communication and a good flow.   The characters are well developed, likeable and flawed - perfect for this story and for building a solid relationship with each other...

I am excited that we'll continue to see this couple as KC builds a book world at Salvation Ranch and that we'll get more queer and kinky cowboys to read about!
