From the blurb:

A sexy alien living incognito on Earth meets a sci-fi loving nerd who wants to rock his universe. What could possibly go wrong? Besides the unexpected tentacles and the accidental Mating Courtship Ritual, that is....

As a bona fide sci-fi nerd and total X-phile—the truth is out there—I’ve always believed in aliens. Duh. But I never thought I’d actually find them on Earth–let alone right here in Las Vegas! Now I’ve stumbled onto a big freakin’ secret and found my very own hot AF alien. I’m head over heels, but he’s being a total grump and holding back. How do I make him realize a geeky sunshine guy like me is just what he needs in his life? Did I mention he also has tentacles?!?! #HolyHentaiFantasyBatman #SwoonworthyAlien #SignMeUpSugar #MakeItSo #VivaLasVegas

The last thing I need in my life is a chatterbox twink who’s determined to woo me and could expose the secret existence of aliens on Earth to all humankind. Everything about him annoys me, including his stupidly attractive halo of golden curls and his bright green ‘come hither’ eyes. To make matters worse, he’s been recruited to work for the alien Alliance on Earth, and I’m assigned to keep him out of trouble. I don’t care how attractive he is. I don’t date humans! Except, my tentacles may have accidentally started the Mating Courtship Ritual with him…

It's Not Unusual to be Loved by an Alien (Tentacular Tales #1) is a (102,000 words) M/M sci-fi rom com featuring an adorkable twink with unexpected secrets and a slight obsession with extraterrestrials, the reluctant alien he wants to make his boo, tentacles with a mind of their own, zany extraterrestrial shenanigans in Sin City, and enough humor to fill an entire spaceship. This is the first book in the series. There is no cheating, and this book ends with a HFN. Never fear, the series guarantees readers an HEA by the end!

“A timer dings in the kitchen, and Benji perks up. “Gotta go check on the brownies.”

My stomach growls at those words.

      He chuckles. “Come with me.”

We head to the kitchen, and Benji puts on a pair of oven mitts before pulling out a tin foil pan full of gooey, chocolatey brownie goodness. He sets them on a wire rack to cool. The smell of butter and cocoa powder wafting from the pan makes me salivate.

“I’ll make a pot of coffee. By the time it’s ready, the brownies should have cooled off enough for us to enjoy them.”

I wipe my mouth, making sure I’m not drooling. “I love brownies. Anything chocolate really.”

Benji nods. “I feel you, man. My magic brownies are epic.”

I wonder what he means by ‘magic’? The smell is definitely magical. “I can’t wait to try them.”

An hour or two later, we’re sitting on the couch in the living room, and I’ve already eaten two brownies. Benji’s still working on his first one, but I’m strangely calm and peaceful. I haven’t been this relaxed in ages.

“These brownies are amazzzzing,” I say, unable to stop myself from drawing out the words.

“Benji gives me a high five I barely manage to return. “Right on, my brother!”

I stare at my hands, which seem to be vibrating even though I’m not moving them. “I feel floaty.”

Benji giggles. “That’s the magical part of the brownies.”

I blink at him in amazement. “You can do magic?”

“He snorts. “Nah, man. The weed in them is what makes them magical.” He waves his fingers at me like he’s performing a magic trick.

      He nods his head.

      “As in marijuana?”

He nods again, and I find myself strangely listing to the side as I tilt my head to gape at him in disbelief. “You gave me…drugs?”

“Duuuuude…I told you they were edibles. Hence, the magic brownies.”

“Ohhhhhh….I didn’t know what you meant,” I slur. I know I should care about this more, but for some reason, I don’t. All of my worries have floated away.

Benji waves a hand dismissively. “Don’t worry about it, man. It’s only some weed. Enjoy the ride and find your mellow.”

“I stare at him stupidly. “I’ve never been high before.”

He shoves the last bite of his brownie in his mouth and blinks at me in surprise. “Really?”

“Well, dude, I’m here to watch over you and keep you out of trouble. It’s all good.”

I gaze back at the brownie pan, still full of luscious gooey goodness. I know I shouldn’t but… “I think I want to eat another one.”
