I am always hesitant about reading stories where overcoming addictions are the focal point, mainly because of being an addiction counselor and witnessing these issues daily. But was I utterly shocked and amazed at the intensity of which Ashley captured even the minute details and suffering of drug addiction! I thoroughly felt Crews’ pain and loneliness suffered at the hands of his parents, wanting to reach through the pages and let him know it’ll be okay and better days are coming!

As with previous books, Illicit Desires also focuses a lot on friendships and having a found family. Katie once again kicked a$$, being her usual stubborn hardheaded self, and never taking no for an answer. And as always, it’s appreciated having updates on previous characters. It’s going to be so difficult to say goodbye to these wonderful people, they will forever hold a special place in my heart ♥️
