Without a Trace Ariana Nash, Shadows of London #5 by Ariana Nash

The Shadows of London series comes to a thrilling conclusion in Without a Trace.

From the blurb:

The windswept Scottish Highlands.

Everything has changed.

With new names and new lives, Dom & Kempthorne should be living their happy ending, but it’s not over yet.

Kage Mitchell knows they’re alive and he’s discovered the single most devastating secret Kempthorne has yet to tell Dom.

There is no other option. Kage Mitchell must die.

But he’s the least of Kempthorne’s concerns. With their identities revealed, and a war brewing between latents and normals, the shadows are on the rise once again, and an old threat awakens beneath London. A threat that could change latents, and the world, forever.

Kempthorne has spent his whole life running from his past. But now, the past is back, and alone, he’s not strong enough to win this fight. When the terrible truth is revealed, will Dom forgive him enough to fight with him?

The Shadows of London series comes to its climatic finale in Without a Trace

Jacquie's Review:

I swear, I tried to take my time with Without a Trace but the pages just turned themselves. I'm sad that this series is over as I really love Dom and his found family. Kempthorne grew on me and I love the chapters with his pov.

This finale was everything I wanted and more! It's brutal, anxiety inducing and deeply romantic at the same time.

The way Kempthorne loves Dom is just... wow. He would literally burn the world down for him and doesn't believe in empty threats.

All my questions were answered, there were more than a few surprises and a very happy ending.

I cannot wait for this on audio. It's going to be epic.

Sheena's Review:

It's the finale of the Shadows of London series, and this has been quite the ride. Prior knowledge of the story and characters is definitely required to read this one.

Dom and Kempthorne have been through a lot since the first book, and so much has changed. This neatly ties together all of the plotlines and it's a satisfying ending for the story. I was so happy to see that Dom got his HEA (even if I can't really get behind him and Alex as a couple. I know, it's just me being weird). Dom is a great protagonist, I've liked him from the start even though he's irascible, moody and downright grumpy at times.

When I found out more about Dom and his origins I was behind him even more, he's been through so much and if anyone deserves to walk away happy, it's Dom.

I won't give away anything story-wise here but I can say all the elements introduced so far in the series get tied together and nothing is left wanting in the end.

This has been one of the best urban fantasy series I've read in a long time, and while I'm sad it's all over, I'm happy I got to read it and spend time in this world.

Janet's Review:

Without a Trace is the fifth book and was a phenomenal ending to the Shadows of London series!

Everything wrapped up perfectly. All the plot and story lines were cleared up and answered with a happy and satisfying ending.

This series hooked right from the beginning but Without A Trace enthralled me, I couldn’t stop turning the pages. I literally stayed up all night to finish it, read it in one sitting.

I swooned and had anxiety in equal measures. I loved how Kempthorne would do anything for Dom including burning down the world! I loved the world building; this has been one of the best urban fantasies I’ve ever read.

Overall, an outstanding read. Well written with that kind of pacing that trapped me! I definitely, highly recommend Without a Trace!!
