After I got used to the third person present tense narrative, I really enjoyed the story.
There was plenty of magic, action and some steam to keep me turning the pages, though there was more than enough story for something longer. The author manages to pack a lot into a few pages and they could have perhaps explored some things a little more.
There were details I would have loved to have, such as the characters ages, and the ending was a tad abrupt but still lovely and fitting for the characters. There's a lot to love in this novella. In fact, I'd quite like to read more about these particular characters.
