Have I ever mentioned how much I love it when two MCs get to know each other mostly anonymously through online/messaging ? How about when those two MCs actually already know each other IRL and have no idea? Well that's the start of this cute novella in the Artists and Athletes series by CD Rachels.
Dominic and Link bond over messaging each other while video gaming. Little do they know that Dominic happens to be best friends with Dane, who in turn is dating Link's brother Landon. Six degrees of separation anyone?
I live for the moment in the book one of the MCs gets clued into who the person they've been messaging is. The dawning realization that the person they really connected with is someone they already know. Then the freak out that ensues trying to piece out how the hell they are going to tell the other person. Gahh the drama I love it.
Since this was a novella all of the above happened rather quickly. It was cute and sweet how it all played out. Dominic irked me a teensey bit with his insecurities regarding his social status compared to Links, but thankfully he got over that quickly as well. Link had given Dominic absolutely no indication he thought he was anything other than wonderful. In fact he made it quite clear he was interested. Honestly I adored Link in this book and greedy me wished we'd gotten a full length novel for his HEA. Speaking of, there's an itty bitty teaser for the next book in the series and let me tell you guys I am all about rooting for Wei and Logan!! Can't wait!
