From the Heart of Death blurb:

Adam

Being the most powerful of the Zoraya-bloods in town should make life easy, right? Not for Adam Davis. His life becomes even more complicated, as Adam is desperately trying to navigate between his duties in the human world, and his commitments to The Guard and the Zoraya-bloods. Adding to the perpetual mess of his existence are several chaos inducing factors:
Unruly daughter – check.
Unattainable love interest – check.
Unimaginable choice between duty and love – check.

Love conquers all… but at what cost?

Steven

Finding love was never part of the plan. Sacrificing everything for the man who stole his heart was never even an option. Ever since he met his new partner, Steven’s life is spinning dangerously out of control. The lines between right and wrong blur to the point of no return. When Steven is faced with making the impossible choice between his sanity and love, the odds are stacked against him:
Unpredictable volatile allies – check.
Unexpected, once in a lifetime chance at love – check.
Unrelenting reminders of the past – check.
What would Steven sacrifice to love Adam forever?

Amy_TBS's Review:

Oh wow, I absolutely loved this MM fantasy romance. Heart of Death is the second book in a series, I would have made life so much easier for myself if I had read Blood Of Zoraya first, but apparently easy is not the way I like things. The characters are interconnected in book one and two.

This was such a fun read with a element of mystery and twists and turns. The characters are well developed, even without reading Blood Of Zoraya. However, Do as I say, not as I do lol and read book one first. It will definitely enhance your reading experience.

I absolutely loved the relationships within Heart Of Death, especially between Adam, Hannah and Steven. They are absolutely adorable as a little family unit. This was somewhat of a slow burn that kept me praying Steven and Adam would finally get it on! Hannah was such a riot and added some extra humour to the story. Tobias and Steven father/son bond was so heartwarming.

I loved all the mysterious characters too like Daria, Stefan, Jason and Om and I'm going to dive into Blood Of Zoraya now because I need more of them.

I highly recommended Heart of Death and I'm looking forwards to what comes next from this author.
