Exploring Love (Podlington #5) by Riza Curtis

Exploring Love is a standalone novella set in the Podlington multi-author world... A quick, captivating read that will grasp your emotions and attention right away.

From the blurb:

Of course, he’s handsome, funny, and talented. What a prick.

Ash Timperley is suffocating in Podlington. Or possibly having an early midlife crisis aged only twenty-four. He wants
to go places, do things, be someone. There just has to be more to life than the village he’s never left.

Podlington is a fresh start for Tristan Marshall. Moving to be closer to his brother, he’s ready to settle down. He’s done with flitting from one thing to the next and meaningless one-night stands, he wants the real deal.

As urban explorers who share a passion for old buildings but argue about everything else, the two of them would never
work. But the universe seems to disagree because suddenly Tristan is everywhere. At the mill Ash loves. At his workplace.
In his village. And then their differences don’t seem so great, but Ash doesn’t want to stay, and Tristan doesn’t want to
leave... Podlington mill has stood for centuries but will it survive the chaos created when Tristan and Ash collide?

Enjoy the charm of Podlington! The sleepy English vi!age where magic happens and dreams come true. This LGBTQ+ Opposites Attract Novel can be read as a standalone novel!a. Exploring Love features angry flirting, a workplace romance, urban exploration, a crumbling historic mill, and, of course, a guaranteed happy ending.

The Podlington Village Romances series is written in British.

Tatted Book Freak's Review:

"A quick, fun read by another new author. These two characters were opposites in every aspect, having a chance encounter that turns into so much more.

“𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕝𝕖𝕒𝕀π•₯ π•ͺ𝕠𝕦 𝕔𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕕𝕠 π•šπ•€ 𝕓𝕦π•ͺ π•žπ•– π••π•šπ•Ÿπ•Ÿπ•–π•£,”
Ash was extremely quiet, keeping to himself especially when he was exploring. He portrayed an uncertainty, constantly fidgety and unsure of himself.

“𝕀π•₯ π•₯π•¦π•£π•Ÿπ•€ 𝕠𝕦π•₯, 𝕀’π•ž π•Ÿπ• π•₯ 𝕧𝕖𝕣π•ͺ π•˜π• π• π•• 𝕒π•₯ π•₯π•™π•šπ•€ π•—π•π•šπ•£π•₯π•šπ•Ÿπ•˜ π•₯π•™π•šπ•Ÿπ•˜.”
Tristan displays so much confidence, yet far from cocky. He goes into new surroundings with an attitude of dominance, taking charge of the situation.

Tristan and Ash instantly connected from their first encounter, with a sizzling hot chemistry mixed with humor and excitement.

Jacquie's Review:

Sweet short in a multi author series
Although this was book number 5, they are standalone set in the same place.

While I loved both Tristan and Ash together, I'd have liked a little more of them as a sort of thing before the conflict.

On the shorter side, there's a fair bit if description of the mill but I can't remember what each character looks like.

Really I just wanted a few more pages because I loved the small village feel, the writing and all the characters. I want to learn more about Jake too, and hope he gets a story, so I'll stick with the series

Heather's Review:

Exploring Love was a short novella with a small town feel, sweet characters and very little angst...

Centering on Tristan and Ash, the story explored the dynamics of what draws someone to and pushes someone away from a place at the surface level, and also includes a lot of side character description of the abandoned mill...  I am also hoping that a future installment will feature Jake's story!
It was a quick read, fun read that took the characters from rivals to lovers.  If you're looking for an afternoon escape to a small town with chemistry, than check out Exploring Love by Riza Curtis.
