10 Things About.. Lola Noire - An Author Interview

We are excited to bring you two exciting posts featuring Dual Threat today.  This interview post and also a blog tour, review & giveaway post!

Without further ado...let's meet Lola Noire:

Plot or Pants?  Do you pre-plot your books, use an outline, fly by the seat of your pants or some combination of things?  How do you keep track of characters in a series?  Do you keep a journal of your characters statistics, such as hair and eye color, relatives, hometown, etc.
No journal. I pictured my characters in my head and went with it. I did write their full name down thus. I am bad with names (in real life too) so I didn’t want to mix-up the last name especially.

Tell us about your first… published gay fiction/romance
Dual Threat Love (DTL) is my first gay romance.

Do you write full time or part-time?
I wish I could write full-time but I only write part-time for now.

If you could invite 4 people (real or fictional, living or dead) to a dinner party, who would you invite and what would you serve?
My mother, Pope Francis, Witney Houston and Dracula. I will definitely serve a traditional Haitian meal of black rice, red snapper, fried plaintain, macaroni au gratin and rum Barbancourt.

Something people would be surprised to know about you
I have a very dark sense of humour that a lot of people don’t get.

Where do you write?  Do you have a routine?
While writing DTL, I used to wait until everyone in the house is sleeping then I would just sit and write from 11pm till 6am.

What are your writing goals for the next year?  The future?
Finish part 2 of DTL, then we’ll see. I have a couple of ideas playing in my head, I just need the time to sit down and really think about them.

What’s the hardest part about writing M/M romance or erotica?
Definitely the sex scenes.

What else do you want us to know about you?
I have a love/hate relationship with travelling. I love to travel and experience different cultures yet after a few days I would miss sleeping in my own bed.

Who’s your biggest supporter/cheerleader?
My husband.

What made you decide gay romance was the genre you wanted to write?
Nothing in particular, to me it is just a love story, it just happens to be a love story between two males.

Where do you find inspiration?
Anything can inspire me. For example, I heard a song a few weeks ago and I already know I’ll use to help me write a sex scene in part 2 of DTL.

What do you do if you hit a wall while writing?  How do you combat writer’s block?
I watch sports during the day and read late at night.

What do your friends and family think of what you write; do they know?
They do know and almost all of them, except for one friend, are very surprised by it.
