Do you choose books by the Blurb or the Cover or both?

Better late than never, I'm answering the question posted Friday on Book Blogger Hop

Are you more likely to choose to read a book based on the synopsis or the cover?

I usually choose books based on the synopsis more than the cover, particularly since most of the books in my sub-genre have a man on the cover, as do many of the MF romances out there, so I look to the synopsis to make sure I'm looking at a book that features two or men, non-binary people or trans men.  Every once in a while I dip my toe back into reading something not in my sub-genre and I just can't get into it the way I used to...

I came to the realization that I need my book boyfriends to have boyfriends right now, which I guess is fortunate because I own and run a blog dedicated to reviewing M/M and M/M/M+ romance and erotica...

Please don't get me wrong, I still have favourite covers and when scrolling through Facebook or elsewhere, some do turn my head... so, yes, an amazing cover can stop me in my tracks, but I won't decide to read the book until I've read the blurb...

If you're a cover person, I've linked a few below - and if you're a blurb person, well - you'll just have to trust me enough to click on a cover or two to read the blurb, because they're all reviews on the blog with blurbs:

Comment below if you're a blurb or cover person and if you checked out any of these books, what drew you to choose it....

  1. I love to see the book covers first but I always have to see what it's about before I read it. So while I love a good cover that doesn't make my decision.
