A Spark of Love (Hearts of Love Book 1) by Shalon Atwood

This story might just be one of the cutest rom-coms I've ever read! Its funny, lighthearted, has plenty of cute moments, and also shows how to forgive and make amends. Along with how far determination and passion can get you.

From the blurb:

What happens when the man you've fantasized about for almost a decade reappears in your small town?

For Oliver Flaherty, it's the inability to formulate coherent sentences, utterly humiliating behavior, and loads of nausea. Sam Anderson has finally returned, with his sculpted biceps, rock-hard abs, and supermodel DNA. Oliver can't cope. But he has to because he's a professional.

Sam is back for one reason only: to sell his aunt's house. But the Realtor hired by her trust is the same person who rejected him all those years ago. Except, had Oliver really turned him down or had Sam read the entire situation wrong? He can't recall now because there's still a sizzle in the air when Oliver is around.

Between a handful of mishaps, decades of accumulated clutter, and enough tension to light up the night sky, Sam and Oliver will have to decide if the spark between them is enough to power through a second chance at a first love.

Katriana Prey's review:

Shalon Atwood is a new-to-me authors, this is the first book of theirs I have ever read. After reading this amazing book, I am definitely going to be keeping an eye out for future stories from them. This story might just be one of the cutest rom-coms I've ever read! Its funny, lighthearted, has plenty of cute moments, and also shows how to forgive and make amends. Along with how far determination and passion can get you.

I love friends to lovers, its one of my favorite tropes and I think it was represented really well here. Oliver and Sam were childhood best friends who spent all their summers together, until something happened that created distance between them. Now, years later, they are brought back into each other's orbit and become friends once more, and that friendship gradually morphs into a beautiful romance that I enjoyed reading about.

This story really was such a joy to read, the characters are great, I loved the humor that was sprinkled throughout the book as well as how Oliver's siblings were so supportive even when they were teasing him. I thought this book was very good and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a small town, friends to lovers, rom-com romance!
