Crowns of Melowynn Duology Box Set by V.L. Locey

Fantasy adventure stories featuring a few devoted couples, loyal found family, danger and intrigue.

From the blurb:

One kingdom. Two love stories. Infinite magic.

Welcome to Melowynn—Elven land of ancient power, dangerous secrets, and desire that defies the rules. This MM romantasy box set features two interconnected tales set in the same spellbound kingdom, where age gaps, aching tension, and slow-burn passion ignite unforgettable romances. When duty clashes with longing, can love still conquer all?

Included in this duology box set is:

The Pastel Prince

The fate of the wilds is in his hands.

Kenton, a young druid prince, feels trapped in the bustling city life, a world away from the forests of his birth. Despite his royal duties keeping him tethered to the urban sprawl, his spirit remains tangled with the whispering trees and the ancient, mystical rhythms of the forest. But when a sinister threat endangers his people’s land and lives, Kenton embarks on a perilous journey to track down a powerful and ancient being; the lone archdruid powerful enough to stop the darkness.

Only, Beirach is nothing like the archdruids of old tales. Instead of withered and world-weary, he is younger than expected, vital, and has a magnetic charm that Kenton can’t ignore. Thrown together by fate and bound by a shared mission, Kenton and Beirach find themselves in the heart of a battle to save nature. As the dark mage’s shadow looms over the forest, they fight together and find a love as raw and wild as the forest itself.

The Pastel Prince is an M/M age gap romantasy set in a faraway land with magicks and mythical beasts, a belligerent pixie, a young druid on an epic quest, an older archdruid who’s not as washed up as he thought, Elven castles, long glances over a campfire, and a fey-tastic happily-ever-after.

The Ivory King

The kingdom’s future rests on their shoulders.

Aelir, a noble elf, has been trained since infancy to step into the role of Ruler of the Vills of Renedith, a position held by his autocratic grandfather. With a heart filled with dreams of change and improving the lives of all elves in his province, he heads to the capitol to attend a gala event for the king’s coronation anniversary with the hopes of gaining a moment of the king’s time. What should be a ten day party filled with wine, archery tournaments, and fine horses turns into a nightmare when the king is poisoned and dies without an heir. The death throws the three elven noble houses into chaos. As the kingdom mourns the elites are sequestered in the capital bickering over which house is the most suitable to sit the throne.

Thrown into a world rife with intrigue, assassins, and courtly machinations, Aelir has only his most trusted guard, V’alor, to watch his back. Something that V’alor has been doing for a dozen seasons now for none love Aelir as V’alor does. While the young noble struggles to understand the vitriol aimed at him from those he considered friends, Aelir turns to the one man he knows will always protect and love him. V’alor. Their romance burns bright and true until his grandfather sends him off to bring back the one thing that will sway the votes in Aelir’s favor and secure the throne for the Stillcloud’s. Aelir must bring home a suitable wife.

And it must be done immediately.

The Ivory King is an M/M age gap romantasy starring a novice monarch who falls for an older guardian set in a land filled with assassins behind every tree, delicate damsels who aren’t as finespun as assumed, Elven courts, passionate embraces, and a fairy tale happy ending.

SNik's review:

This was an entertaining fantasy world, with plenty of adventure, interesting characters, loyal friends, and committed lovers.

The Pastel Prince. First in duology. Fantasy. Age gap. Found family. Slow burn. Single POV. Chosen by his goddess to be the companion of a young elf prince, Kenton is a druid prince living away from the forest for the last ten years, when he is tasked to find the cause of a killing plague. Seeking the help of the experienced archdruid Beirach, Kenton finds himself on a dangerous journey to save his home, while falling for the kind and handsome Beirach. I enjoyed the world building, the adventure, the varied loyal supportive secondary characters, and the mutual attraction that grows into something special.

The Ivory King. Second in duology. Fantasy. Age gap. Found family. Single POV. V’alor has protected Prince Aelir since he was a boy, but now Aelir is all grown up and determined to make V’alor his. But Aelir is now a possible successor to the recently murdered king and has to marry a noble bride, so he has to travel while avoiding assassins and trying to find a way to keep V’alor. I appreciated that both Aelir and V’alor were aware of their duty but also determined to be together. And with the support of the secondary characters it was fun to see how everything works out and that Aelir hopes to bring a better life to everyone in the kingdom.
