The Dragon's Aide is second in a series, following a dragon shifter and a sassy mage on their way to their HEA. Tons of heat abounds.
There may not be anything more intimidating than a grouchy dragon, but Isaac will not allow his temporary boss get in the way of a possibly great learning experience. But frequent feeding may not be enough to keep Maverick from blowing up, so perhaps offering a different kind of blowing will help. Isaac isn't sure where their relationship is going, but it's going to be a wild ride for sure.
From the blurb:
Isaac went against his family when he refused to join the military. He had dreams and he wasn’t going to cave to family pressure to give them up. So when his boss offers him an opportunity to get some real experience in the job he’s working toward, he leaps at the chance. The only problem is that his new boss is a grumpy dragon with a short fuse known to terrorize the office. But that wasn’t anything Isaac couldn’t handle. Right?
Maverick always had a temper. Most dragons did. It wasn’t something that affected his work. Until it did. Overworked, consistently dealing with incompetence, Maverick was at his wit’s end and in a last bid to keep his temper in check, he agreed with a recommendation to hire a temporary assistant to help him. But when the stubborn pink haired mage shows up, his dragon takes notice and suddenly, Maverick’s limited control has gone up in smoke. Now his career is on the line, and the only person willing to help him was the one who drove him over the edge. Things couldn’t get any worse. Right?

SNik's review:
Second in series (Charmed Away Temp Agency), can be read as a standalone but might be more fun if read in order. Paranormal. Boss/employee. Grumpy/sunshine. Dual POV.
Rogue's review:
- workplace romance
- mates
- paranormal
This is the second in the Charmed Away Temp Agency series, but really could be enjoyed as a standalone. Maverick is a dragon shifter with a very short temper, and Isaac the temp assigned to work with him. Isaac is a mage and no pushover, I loved that about him, that he would not back down but yet he really cared about Maverick and really wanted to help him. I just wasn't sure about the methods he went about to do that, though.
The heat between these two is literally off the charts, there's some hate sexy times around, and while everyone around can see what's the score between them, these two are oblivious, pretty much. I didn't like some of the side characters and wanted to see the resolution of those storylines, the off the page explanations weren't satisfying, to me. I liked both characters though, and enjoyed their story very much. If there's more perhaps with Isaac's family then I'm definitely here for the duration.

Law student Isaac is sent as a temp to be the legal aide for the top attorney at Spellbound Corps. and there is no way he will pass up the learning opportunity. Maverick has no work life balance, it’s only work, and he doesn’t tolerate incompetence, but his temper seems slightly abated when the pink haired Isaac comes to work for him.
I really enjoyed that Maverick may be Isaac’s boss, but Isaac is a powerful mage and unafraid of the grumpy dragon as he smoothly navigates Maverick’s moods most of the time. Isaac and Maverick jump from bumping heads to bumping other things and if they had enough time maybe it would work out but they come up against several obstacles that they have to overcome. There are the familiar supportive secondary cast of characters introduced in book one along with some new faces, a dragon and mage that don’t realize they are forging a bond, and plenty of steamy times between them. I’m really enjoying this series.

Well, these two didn't take to mating easily. With a hot tempered dragon lawyer and strong willed mage in school to be a lawyer, thetmy were bound to butt heads. Their chemistry is off the charts, so it was no surprise they found the perfect partner in each other. It just took a not so safe or smart choice to get them to realize how they really feel. Loved to see how they balanced each other out once they accepted their fate to be the better mate in life and work proving to be an unstoppable force in the future. Another great addition to this series that holds a lot of promise for future stories.
