The Heart of Moonlight Falls (Moonlight Falls Book 3) by Colette Rivera

The trilogy finale for James Gray and Sebastian Storm as they fight to save their hometown of Moonlight Falls. Constant action, a good amount of spice, and a couple that will not be separated no matter what happens.

From the The Heart of Moonlight Falls blurb:

In the end, the heart is all that matters.

James is ready to settle into the future he’s always dreamed of, but he can’t. Nothing comes easily for him and Sebastian while the Storm House curse haunts them and trouble continues to brew in Moonlight Falls.

Battling shades is a given. What James doesn’t expect is the town turning on the man he loves.

Secrets get out and Sebastian must fight for his place in the community as he reckons with his connection to the magic of Moonlight Falls and what it means for defeating his family’s curse and restoring the veins of power once and for all. While the answers he finds challenge his resolve, Sebastian knows nothing from this world or Beyond can break his and James’s bond.

There will always be light in the dark, and together, James and Sebastian can make it shine. But will that be enough to get them through their final challenge?

SNik's review:

Third in series (Moonlight Falls), trilogy finale, must be read in order. Paranormal. Established couple. Found family. Dual POV.

Can James and Sebastian finally put an end to the Storm curse and save the town of Moonlight Falls? Even as their relationship further solidifies, James and Sebastian are still at a loss on how to fix the disruption to the magical intersection and fight off the stronger shades that are appearing. Their found family continues their unwavering support and there is plenty of action keeping them busy until the final conclusion to the overarching plotline.

Of course saving their hometown was important, but my favorite parts were when it was just James and Sebastian sharing their feelings and hopes for the future. I certainly could not predict how the ending was going to happen so this was an entertaining read throughout for me. This was a solidly enjoyable trilogy and I’m a little sad to see these characters go.

Molly Otto's review:

The thrilling conclusion of the Moonlight Falls trilogy has our people fighting the Shades to have control of Moonlight Falls. When some of Storm families' secrets come to light, the ad suspected not all people take it well. With James, as well as their inner circle, on his side, Sebastian learns to trust himself and his instincts in what needs to be done to save the town. This book keeps you engaged from chapter one and doesn't let go til the very end. The bond that grows between Sebastian & James throughout the series was a beautiful thing to see in how these two men are always there for one another and make the other stronger for it. When past transgressions will be put to rest, enabling Sebastian a chance at true happiness.

Well folks we've made it to the end of the Moonlight Falls trilogy! There was a lot going on in this book in addition to the romance. Sebastian is facing increasing distrust from some of the rather unsavory residents of Moonlight Falls and the massive shade issue is not doing him any favors. People are worried. Heck Sebastian himself is worried. His connection to the veins, their unstable nature, and the seemingly sentient shades are all nerve-wracking issues that the whole gang have been working hard on figuring out.

"ʟᴏᴏᴋ ʜᴏᴡ ʙᴇᴀᴜᴛɪꜰᴜʟ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ... ʟᴏᴏᴋ ʜᴏᴡ ᴘᴇʀꜰᴇᴄᴛʟʏ ᴡᴇ ꜰɪᴛ ᴛᴏɢᴇᴛʜᴇʀ."

The one thing James and Sebastian did not need to worry about were their feelings for each other. James made it perfectly clear that no matter happened he was sticking by Sebastians side. Nobody had ever stuck by Sebastian before, and it broke my heart whenever Sebastian would think about how surprisingly wonderful it was to have someone.

Their little group of James, Sebastian, Eli, Parker, Hazel, and even Eleanor have made themselves a family and I loved that about this series! Once the major plotline of the trilogy was resolved it was truly lovely seeing Sebastian bloom into the man he was meant to be if the curse never existed. He had a partner in James who adored him and a family who proved they would be there for him whenever he needed. What more could you need for a happy ever after!?
