Summer Catch is a cute story about the mysterious bartender, and the new head coach!
From the blurb:
Newly hired Charleston Condors’ coach Jonathan Kelley is very aware of all the uphill battles he’s got to climb.
There’s a new owner he’s got to please. New culture to implement. New players to train. New rules to follow.
But one rule hasn't changed: don't spend so much time flirting with the cute bartender via text that you start to wonder if you're straight, after all.
But Kieran doesn’t just make the best drinks in Charleston, or own the Pirate’s Booty, the most fun bar in town, he’s kind and sweet and undeniably hot.
He makes Jon long for things he’s never craved, not ever before. But Jon’s never lived in fear. He goes after what he wants, and what he wants is Kieran.
Maybe this summer, the Condors won't be the only ones scoring touchdowns.
Angel's review:
This short story was fantastic! You can't even tell it's a short story because it just flows so smoothly and has so much relationship building packed into the pages. I enjoyed the buildup these two guys had, they developed their friendship first, then slowly worked on becoming more. I loved that they found the time to be together even when they were both busy with their jobs, that was really cute and special.
Carter being so shocked by their relationship at the end was hilarious, he didn't see that coming, haha.
If you like a friends to lovers romance with a bi-awakening mixed in then you'll love this book. I certainly did!
Heather's Review:
I missed the Charleston Condors so I jumped at the chance to read the new novella that Beth Bolden put out and to my surprise it's a story that runs concurrent to the rest of the series and even starts before the team gels together...
I love that this story takes us from strangers to friends to lovers and also drops teases about the other stories in the Condors series... and that they manage to keep their situation a secret for so long. This is the perfect way to recap the series and makes me want to go back and re-read the series all over again!
