Book Blogger Hop - Book Signings/ Diverse Characters

I'm trying out a second week in the book blogger hop and I screwed up looking at the prompt so I answered the one from LAST AUGUST for this time...  but I thought I'd leave it in since it really does speak to the blog, so it's second and the book signing prompt is first:

Have you ever gotten a book signed by the author?

Submitted by Julie @ Stepping Stones Book Reviews.

I have a few signed books from back when I read paper copies, but now that I'm all digital, I have stopped buying paperbacks to get signed... that being said, I am considering collecting bookplates signed by my favourite authors and scrapbooking them...

Now for the prompt I answered first...

"Do you read books by diverse authors or books with diverse characters (such as LGBT, ethnic minorities, religious minorities, etc)? If yes, do you have any book recommendations? Do you visit indie and/or used bookstores? Also, have you ever worked in any?"

Well, since you stumbled upon a MM romance blog, I'll start by saying yes to the first question - all of the books I review are LGBT (mostly Gay or Bisexual Men) but some are Trans, some are elsewhere on the spectrum, but to qualify for review here, they all identify as men...

That being said, I'll focus on the other part of the question for my recommendations here - these are books I've reviewed that feature an ethnic minority (and that I've loved and think you will too...

If you click on the cover, it will take you to my review:

I also wanted to throw in one of my favorite reads this month that features a Trans character

Thank you so much for visiting!  I hope you give one of these or the many other romance or erotica books we have reviewed a try!  Being a young blog, we have read way more M/M romance than we feature here, so if you need a recommendation for something else, please ask!

  1. Glad to know I'm not the only one who gets confused sometimes xD I also read majority digital but do buy physical copies of books I really loved. I only get them signed if I happen to be at an event though, I don't buy them pre-signed. But the bookplate idea is great! I also don't read a whole lot of romance, but the diverse reads you featured look interesting! I hope you have a lovely weekend :)

  2. Signed bookplates sound like a great idea - particularly when you need to save space! Most of the physical books I own are ones I have been gifted or ones I bought for a multi-author signing event.
I'm not sure if you enjoy fantasy or urban fantasy, if you do I would highly recommend Ariana Nash's work.

  4. I have a few book plates but prefer to collect signed first edition hardcovers from some of my fav authors. I love MM romance so I will be back to check out some recommendations.
