My Demon Assistant (Demon Debacles Book 3) by Stella Rainbow

If you like fated mates, found family moments, and silly mismatched phrases, then you should read this!

From the My Demon Assistant blurb:

Demons made great assistants. I'd know, I had one...

When I first met my new assistant, I thought he was a little strange, but ultimately a good employee.

He was on-time everyday, brought me homemade cookies, and did his work diligently. While he had a tendency to get his phrases and words mixed up, he was ultimately a good assistant.

Until the day I saw him bleeding and half-dead, and discovered a whole another side of him. When he told me he was a demon, and that I was his fated mate? Everything changed.

Finding out the two people I loved and trusted the most in this world had already known and kept it a secret from me didn't help, but it also couldn't stop me from falling for my strange, wonderful assistant.

My Demon Assistant is an MM paranormal romance featuring a human who doesn't trust easy, a slightly himbo demon with a gentle heart, and best friends who aren't afraid to knock some sense into you when you need it. Full of sweetness and fluff, My Demon Assistant is book 3 in the Demon Debacles series, but can be read as a standalone.

Angel's review:

Stella's writing is so fun to read, it's always a fun time when I read her stories, they never fail to make me smile in one way or another. Eshim is a demon who has been tasked to look out and protect the human realm from the dark souls that are on the loose. When he hears a stranger's laughter over the phone, he knows that whoever the stranger is that's his fated Mate. Which means he has to be relocated, find a place to live, and figure out how to date as a human.

I've been hoping Jerry would get his own story after reading about Kat and Archer finding their mates. Those three are comparable to the three musketeers but since Archer and Kat are mated to demons, they haven't been able to share that very important detail with him, until now.

I thought this story was sweet, cute, funny, and a nice short story to read. I thought Jerry and Eshim paired really well together, Jerry is focused on work all the time often forgetting to take care of himself and have fun. And that's where Eshim comes in, he makes sure Jerry takes breaks, eats, and has time to do things he enjoys outside of work. And despite them working together, there isn't a power imbalance at all, they work well together both professionally and personally.

I really liked that this was said in the story; "Being mates just meant that out of all the people in the world, Jerry and I would have the best relationship with each other if we put in the work." I think for those who don't like the instant connection aspect of fated mates this would help show them that isn't what happens in this book. Yes Jerry and Eshim are fated mates, but they don't instantly have a connection or are in love with each other, that takes time and work.

Overall yet another great story in this series.
